Mission Statement Pegasus Foundation is a player guild started in the Electronic Arts game “Earth and Beyond” in the Pegasus Galaxy. It has now expanded to multiple game platforms. It is a multi- Class/Race/level guild dedicated to 3 main principles:
1) To provide a group of players to help individuals enjoy their gaming experience. To be friends they can fight, adventure, and grow with.
2) To provide a family that large numbers of players can belong to, socialize with, and form a community with. To be an important part of the online Community providing help to members and non-members alike.
3) To be an important force in the game. To influence the story line and game changes affecting all players. To be the voice of players to programmers, developers, and marketers.
Guild Charter
Right of Players
· Every member retains the inalienable right to leave the guild of his/her own free will. It is desired that members leaving notify their superior by e-mail and/or in game. It is desired to know the reason for leaving as we seek to make the guild the best it can be, and problems must be brought to leadership’s attention before they can be corrected.
· Every member retains the right to play the game as they choose, and seek class/race promotions at will.
· Every member retains the right to keep and possess the full amount of experience and credit they receive. There will be no mandatory taxation, though an honor taxation system may be in place.
· Each member must realize it is only a game. This game exposes characters to risk, it is possible, even likely, characters will be killed. Missions, events and activities associated with Pegasus Foundation are not a guarantee of safety.
· Every member has the right to register 1 vote in any situation that a vote is called for.
· Every member has the right to receive guild discounts, services, and any other benefit offered to any member.
· Every member has the right to be assigned to a department or subsection of the guild.
Recruits
· Recruits have the rights of members, with the exception of voting (which they cannot cast). And potentially limited buy and sell rights as dictated by their recruiter, superiors, and the Trade Dept.
· Recruits may not request a change of assignment.
Code of Conduct
We expect all members to be honorable, honest, polite, clean and helpful. We want to express we are a guild of the highest virtues. Our combatants are not simple fighters but warriors of peace, defenders of justice, and enforcers of the law. Our Manufacturers and traders are not just makers of stuff, but craftsmen (and craftswomen) of skill and integrity. Our explorers do more than just travel around.
As such we feel every member and recruit should follow these simple rules:
· Be nice.
· Be polite
· Be helpful
· Be honest
· Respect your superiors, uplift your subordinates
· Do not curse (if you need to, use abbreviations like ‘wth’, but Character codes like sh*t are not acceptable)
· Greet when you enter the game, say goodbye when you leave
· Follow the TOS for the game and the Pegasus Foundation policy
These rules apply to interactions between members and non-members alike.
Policy on Player Killing
Pegasus Foundation will not condone or support player killers. Consenting player vs. player combat is acceptable. Games that require PvP or imply it merely by playing the game are assumed to consent to said PvP.
Use of Third Party Programs
Pegasus Foundation does not support or condone the use of third party programs that in any way alter game play, unless they have been specifically authorized by the game manufacturer. We use various voice communication programs, but they are background programs and in no way affect game play. Use of programs that intentionally modify game conditions or exploit bugs may be reason for expulsion from the guild.
Guild Participation
This is the single most important thing a member can do. Promotion from recruit to member is based off of participation, not rank or time played. Promotion above member is also based on guild participation. Members are expected to monitor the guild channel when they are online, unless they are in a meeting or in a Pegasus Foundation group or private channel.
Housing
The guild will attempt to acquire housing as soon as it is reasonably possible, providing the game allows for permanent guild facilities. We will attempt to provide all we can for our members.
Penalties for Violation of Charter, TOS, or Code of Conduct
Any reported violation will result in penalties. This may be slight (like a redirection to watch one’s language), moderate (like a fine for repeated swearing), Harsh (like guild expulsion for intentionally cheating a member), or even severe (like guild expulsion and reporting to a GM and/or the company for using a program to exploit a bug)
Cost to Members
Pegasus Foundation is also a real world business and as such there is a cost to be a member of this guild. The cost is $1 per month, BUT it is waived if you actively play a game and post one submission or more on the web site forums per month. This allows us to keep our numbers clean and remove those who no longer play any games or post on our site. It also encourages active participation on our web site. Waivers may be obtained for members in good standing who have gaps or leaves in their game play (like those in military service). Members who wish to maintain their membership but do not wish to actively post or play must pay the $1 monthly fee or may pay in advance for a year at a cost of $10. It is our hope that no one every have to pay to belong to our guild.
